Posts: 452		do any of you mess around with articulated type streamers?
If so what techniques do you use/ style of articulated streamer do you like?

Posts: 5One I'll be tying this year is the "Sex Dungeon". I'll use heavy mono to connect the rear fly with beads.

Posts: 472		I've had success with the Galloup-style articulated streamers, esp. the Heifer Groomer (a hinged Zoo Cougar for all intents and purposes) and the Sex Dungeon. I use Beadolon stranded for the 'hinge' with the obligatory bead(s) in red, gold, or silver depending on a whim I guess.

Sidebar, I've had the most hookups with these streamers on BIG water such as the Muskegon and Lower Big Manistee- I don't even bother to bring them to the smaller streams I intend to fish.

There's a love/hate thing with articulated streamers...I like to tie and throw them, other anglers I've fished with consider these flies anathema.

I've tied and fished them, but I don't really fish streamers enough to give a good opinion. It did occur to me that I might do just as well for trout with buggers. Roguerat made a good point about having more hookups on large water with them. I do catch a lot more bass with articulated streamers on larger water like the Juniata and Susquehanna.
